When weather turns hot like this July in Seoul, people would likely to go to places to play with cool water, just like water park.
But talking about summer, especially when traveling, something we would immediately come to our mind is local summer festival. For that being said, I will like to introduce Bonghwa Euneo (Korean sweetfish) Festival, the representative summer festival of Korea. Wish this would be helpful information for those who are looking forward to visit South Korea for traveling purposes.
What is Bonghwa Euneo Festival?
Bonghwa county, or Bonghwa-gun, is a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. For those who does not understand specific location of Bonghwa, if we say Seoul, the capital city of South Korea is Northern-west direction, then Gyeongsang Province is about Southern East.
In the same time “euneo(은어)” is Korean for sweetfish. Which being said, at Bonghwa Euneo Summer Festival, being taken place at beautiful mountain stream, the main experience is to catch sweetfish yourselves, no matter with your bare hand, or using tools provided by the festival’s person in charge.
Eventhough I said that the main experience is fish catching, there’re so many other events to fully enjoy your experience of Korea’s nature and water. You could cook your fish you’ve caught right at the cooking area next to the pool to enjoy grilled fish. They also built water park facilities to cool down and refresh yourselves from hot temperatures.
